Le Manoir and Northern Polytunnels

3rd Apr 2018

Northern Polytunnels have been supplying Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons with polytunnels and polytunnel refurbishments for many years now and we are proud to be able to help such a world-class establishment grow such outstanding produce. From luscious herbs to delicious vegetables, our polytunnels have been instrumental in providing the kitchen with a steady supply of quality produce, helping the manor to earn itself a global reputation for fine gastronomy.

Ultra-fresh organic produce has always been a part of Raymond Blanc’s vision for Le Manoir. “I absolutely love gardens,” he told us, before describing how the first thing he did when the restaurant was established in 1984 was to create a vegetable garden. Thirty-four years later, the manor now boasts an impressive 2,500-strong heritage orchard and an array of stunning gardens.

Located in the Oxfordshire countryside, Le Manoir is the ultimate gardener’s dream. Surrounded by lawns, flower borders and 11 different vegetable and herb gardens – each of which have been inspired by Raymond Blanc’s travels, his childhood, and the wonderful people he has met over the years – the restaurant has remained at the cutting edge of culinary excellence since its inception.

For keen kitchen gardeners or passionate allotmenteers, Le Manoir also offers a range of interactive gardening courses. Located in the heart of the hotel’s gardens, the Raymond Blanc Gardening School’s team of horticulture experts can provide you with all the tips you need to get your garden growing. According to the man himself, “whatever course you choose, it will be a day of discovery in the truly enchanted surroundings and you will learn so much about the magic of growing”.

The gardening courses, which will run from the end of May to October, are designed to add another dimension to your culinary adventure and will equip you with advice, ideas and inspiration for your own vegetable plot or allotment. Your base for the day will be the Hartley Botanic glasshouse, from which you’ll be treated to a range of exciting and interactive lessons from Le Manoir’s gardening experts and you can also expect to be treated to a delicious working lunch courtesy of the chefs.
