Our fruit cages were designed and developed in our workshop. It is the belief that no two fruit beds are the same size. Northern Polytunnels have produced an easy to assemble fruit cage and support system that can be adapted to plots of all shapes and sizes.

Designed and developed in our own workshop, the system comprises of a range of standard components sold separately, which can be used to construct fruit cages, archways, bean and pea frames and supports for sweet peas, kidney beans or raspberry canes.

The framework comprises 25mm diameter high-strength aluminium tubing with a 1.5mm wall thickness. Tubes are connected together with galvanised steel joiners, swaged to provide a neat and robust connection. This produces a framework which is up to 30% stronger than competitive systems.

The side netting for fruit cages is a high strength 2m wide polypropylene net with a 19mm square mesh, The roof net is a knitted mesh used by commercial growers available in a range of widths from 4m to 20m. Nets are attached to the framework with PVC adjustable ratchet ties which allow the net to be removed during the winter months.

Doors are supplied with hinges, special door fasteners and individual door uprights. Complete with keyhole fixing brackets. Each section when assembles measures 2.5m x 2.5m with further configurations made up from this size.
