Here at Northern Polytunnels, we recognise the responsibility we have towards protecting the environment, and we understand the important role that sustainable forest management can play in conserving the natural habitats of animals and plants.

That’s why we are proud to announce that we now only supply gardening products that use Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certified timber, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable forest management.

Whilst we have moved away from using timber for our polytunnel base rails and door frames, we do supply a number of gardening products that are made from FSC® and PEFC™ certified timber, including our range of raised beds.

By sourcing our timber from sustainably managed forests, not only are we helping to provide greater incentives for forest owners to opt for sustainable forest management but we’re also providing our customers with greener and more ethical products.

FSC® and PEFC™ certifications ensure that the timber we use comes from forests that are managed responsibly and is only available to forest owners that make the best use of their resources and work towards protecting their local environments and wildlife.

So next time you’re thinking of buying wood or paper products, whether it be a raised bed kit or even a brand-new kitchen, remember to look for companies that use FSC® and PEFC™ certified timber to help improve the management of the world’s forests.
