Netting and Windbreak

All too often the crops you’ve been tending to are damaged by wind and hail or ravaged by birds, butterflies and garden pests. To protect your crops, we have a range of high quality netting and windbreaks.

Windbreak Netting can protect from high winds that can often cause damage to both crops and your polytunnel.  The netting can also slow evaporation and protect against soil erosion or the spread of disease.

Anti-Hail Netting protects bloom and blossom from hail damage; it is also often used as anti-butterfly netting. UV stabilised to prevent premature UV degradation. The material is soft on plants and weights just 70g/m2 with less than 30% shade value.

Anti-bird Netting is a knitted mesh used by commercial growers, nets are attached to the framework using PVC cable ties, which allows the net to be removed during the winter months. Fruit cage netting is available in a range of widths and sold per metre.

Our Anti-Insect Mesh comes in two sizes, 0.23mm x 0.23mm mesh which is ideal to protect from whitfly or thrips and the 0.72 x 0.72 which will protect against carrot root fly or cabbage fly. The mesh is flexible, manoeuvrable and UV stabilised to prevent premature UV degradation.

Shade net polytunnels provide reduced light levels and ventilation for nursery stock, which would suffer leaf bleaching or leaf scorch in strong sunlight. Full Net Covers provide 40-45% shade value and are manufactured from monofilament and polypropylene. The covers can be made to measure.
